Parent Survival Kit: Divorce Edition is a workbook designed especially for children ages 4-12 whose parents are going through a separation or divorce. This workbook was created by a child therapist to help parents, educators and counselors work with children directly to explore their feelings around divorce. The exercises provide an arena for children to explore and express their feelings as well as an avenue for parents, caregivers and counselors to gain better insight into what the child needs throughout the divorce process. The workbook highlights the key areas that are most commonly a challenge for young children through the divorce process. The exercises come with a page for parents that outline the exact purpose of each exercise, clear directions to give the child and follow-up questions related to the exercise. After the completion of this book, parents, caregivers and counselors will have better insight into how their child is interpreting key issues around the divorce, how they are expressing their feelings and techniques and approaches that they can use with their child to help them through this process. Natasha Hill has been in the mental health field for over thirteen years.
